One more tip: Download the free Isol8 plugin ( ) and insert it in your monitor FX. Typically this means turning the commercial mix WAY down. You can only make a valid comparison at equal volume. Lastly, the most important thing to be aware of when A/B ing is that the reference mix is at the same volume as your mix. Now all you have to do to A/B with your mix is press SOLO on the reference track because solo takes precedence over MUTE. We dont want the reference track going through any buss processing.
